Now that I have a little more time on my hands I've decided to take up the Art Challenge over at
I've been building up my studios (one in Alaska and one in Arizona) since my retirement.
I figured that since there was a bit of money left from the sale of my house when we bought the Arizona place I could have a little fun hoarding filling it with art supplies.
Now it's time to really ramp up and use some up before we head north again.
Right now I'm in the process of figuring out if my grounds and glues survived the deep freeze we had a few weeks back. Something I'm quite cognizant of in Alaska but Arizona? Who knew?
I did this collage the same day as the "It's Spring" collage.
I actually find it easier with collage if I keep my options for scraps and images down, otherwise I get overwhelmed with possibilities.
Detail of "Heh!"
Yeah, I have a shoe thing going on with my collages in case you haven't noticed.
Just wait there's another one drying as we speak!
*numinosity* goodies
This looks great, I know we talked about it, but it is really cool in person. Glad the glue didn't freeze! xox Corrine
ReplyDeleteLucky us to be here when we had the "it hasn't been this cold for a hundred years" freeze !
ReplyDeleteLucky, Lucky, Lucky !
cheers, parsnip
I love that you are being so crafty again. Please keep on with the shoe fetish. It makes me very happy.
ReplyDeleteLove them, Kim! Great collages!
ReplyDeleteLovely collage, website wonderful & I've been drooling at your etsy shop. I also commented twice on your fab giveaway. I 'liked' the Arctic Garden Studio - is that you? I'm not v good with fb! I'll blog about you soon - I'll let you know...anything to increase my chances! Phew, I might just have the energy to visit the Kesha link! ;)
ReplyDeleteHello Kim
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on the collage thing - too many things to choose from makes it too hard! THe collage looks great. The sun is finally making it to the North... cold mornings, but lovely afternoons. Perhaps it will be time for you to head North soon.

have you seen the collage work of kurt schwitters? i saw an exhibition of his stuff in norway last year (tho' he was german). these remind me a little bit of his work (have i already told you this previously, i'm having deja vu).
ReplyDeletei still have trouble with you being retired...aren't you like the same age as me? maybe i need to retire too....
